Concept

Surfebruary is on a mission to improve the lives of those diagnosed with cancer by funding innovative research. The initiative encourages everyone to surf or swim every day during February.

As a major partner of Surfebruary, we wanted to voice the importance of participating in this event as '1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime'. Simultaneously, we strived to create a feeling of positivity and fun that encouraged everyone to get involved.

The hero video aimed to communicate the purpose of Surfebrauary and how to get involved! Rather than producing an introductory, 'how-to video', we used engaging animations, fast-paced cuts, and beautiful coastal imagery to share with the world how they can get 'stoked for a cause'.

The result was a campaign full of life, energy and vibrance. Individuals were motivated to get involved, share their personal stories, connect with others, and share their new daily ritual!

For SurFebruary 2023 our goal was to increase sign ups and showcase the positive community and fun energy that SurFebruary endeavours to have.

We created a series of videos that explored the concept of ‘How to prepare for SurFebruary’ that had a comedic and light-hearted approach. The videos all show a SurFebruary participant preparing for SurFebruary in very dramatic scenarios and represents the excitement, dedication and joy that the event has.

Other social media videos were created to further explain how people can participate in the event and also to true meaning behind the event.
